Happy Father's Day!

I almost made my boyfriend cry today.

Last year at this time, Father's Day was just another day to play a round of golf with his dad. This year, he is the one being celebrated. My boyfriend came into our lives when L was only 4 weeks old. I think she weighed about 6 pounds. Introduced by my brother, he had heard the whole sordid story of my marriage, pregnancy, and separation in real-time, through my brother's perspective. When he came into our lives I had nothing to explain, he just wanted to be there for me. For us.

L's face lights up when he enters the room. He is the only father she has ever known.
