Book Review: God's Promises for Girls
What an adorable hardback book!
God's Promises for Girls by Jack Countryman & Amy Parker is a book that is destined for every little girl's nightstand. Each page features a picture, a title and scripture quotes that support the title.
My favorite is:
God Wants You To...
Be Beautiful on the Inside
She is strong and is respected by the people.
She looks forward to the future with joy.
She speaks wise words.
And she teaches others to be kind.
She watches over her family.
And she is always busy.
Her children bless her.
Her husband praises her.
He says, "There are many excellent wives,
but you are better than all of them."
Charm can fool you, and beauty can trick you.
But a woman who respects the Lord should be praised.
-Proverbs 31:25-30
This is truly a book for girls of every age, from 0 to 100!

Book Review: How Should A Christian Live?
I recently got the opportunity to review a great book titled, How Should a Christian Live?. This devotional and journal is great for anyone who is interested in learning more about Christianity. I like this book because it presents easy to understand daily devotionals along with puzzles like word scrambles and word searches. This would be great for Sunday School teachers to use in a middle school or high school Sunday school class. There are also 6 hours of Audio included, featuring popular young people such as singer Jordin Sparks and The Disney Channel's Emily Osment. How Should a Christian Live? promises to help you find a life filled with adventure and incredible purpose - who wouldn't love that?

Book Review: Rick & Bubba's Big Honkin' Book of Grub
I was excited about my recent chance to review the book Rick & Bubba's Big Honkin' Book of Grub because I love Southern food and I thought from the title that it would feature some great recipes to try with a little humor sprinkled along. Man, was I disappointed. Apparently these two men have a radio show, and this book is similar to listening to them talk for two hours. Ramblings about food they like and don't like are divided into categories (condiments, meats, etc.) with each chapter displaying one 'recipe' at the end. The recipes are barely that, and require little to no culinary skill. If you need the recipe for Spam Taters and are unclear of the definition of 'midnight snack' then you may like this book. Unless you are a HUGE fan of Rick and Bubba, I do not recommend this book.

Book Review: The Flowering Cross by Beth Ryan
I recently had the opportunity to review the book The Flowering Cross by Beth Ryan. This special story has an Easter theme and would be a great addition to your daughter's Easter basket. Each page of the story has a short sentence at the bottom (called a Faith Imprint) to help you expand on what is happening in the story. There are also bible quotes to reinforce the Faith Imprints. The last page of the book shows directions for grownups to make a Flowering Cross.Overall, I think this book has a great message - be nice to your neighbors. However, this book is too advanced for young children and will probably only be interesting to older children who can not only read, but also understand the concepts presented.
I received a gratis copy of The Flowering Cross for this review.

Have you missed us?

So sorry we have been MIA lately! I have been working my buns off of a new venture that I am so excited to share with you! My love of green baby products and practices combined with the lack of options in my town has led me to start a store featuring all of my favorites! Each product has been personally tested and approved by L and I. Needless to say, my new store and blog take up the majority of my time and I do not have enough time right now to write for two blogs. The Green Baby Green Mama blog is an extension of Lil Green Baby and I would be delighted if you checked it out! I look forward to reading your comments and responses on my new blog!
